First up is NYC's Lipstick in Forever Fuschia.
This was a really pleasant surprise for me. I'm not much of a lipstick girl, usually I stick with lipbalms or lipgloss. But this lipstick was smooth, easy to apply and lasted an adequate amount of time. It also had a pleasant fragrance, which was probably the biggest surprise and one of the main reasons I don't like lipstick.
The Rimmel Mousse foundation was too light for my skin, and didn't really work as a concealer or highlighter. It was too dry for my skin, and I attempted to mix a little of my moisturizer with it which only cause it to become heavy and didn't cover well - sooooo, no personal photos of this product. Even if it had been the right shade, I didn't care for the texture, it wasn't very smooth and applicaton was kind of 'raggedy'.
I've never been a huge fan of press-on nails, and after scoping out the Broadway Nails imPRESS my mind hasn't changed. The color was nice, but translucent in base and the normal nail was easily seen through. The sizes were not appropriate for my nails, and I didn't apply them.
Pilot's Acroball was a treat, and great timing as I started my spring semester right when it arrived. It's a good pen, nice grip, smooth writing and easy to use and so far has taken a good many notes with me.
The Red Rose Real Tea water enhancer was really disappointing. I've used several different water enhancer products and I was excited to try another brand, however, it was too artificial and chalky tasting. I tried using less, barely a squirt in a 24 ounce glass of ice water but it didn't make enough of a difference to change my mind. I probably won't be purchasing a different flavor to try.
Playtex has typically been a brand I've liked and this product didn't disappoint. The applicator was smooth and easy to use, the odor shield did a great job without being too obvious or obnoxious and the tampon itself was comfortable and the regular absorbency did a good job handling my flow without having to be changed more frequently than about 4-5 hours.
I'm always excited to qualify for a VoxBox and try out new products, but I was a little disappointed with most of the products in this VoxBox, but you can't always have everything work for you. That's the whole point of personally trying out new products is to find out what works and what doesn't and just because some of these didn't work for me, doesn't mean they aren't quality products that will be on someone else's A list.
