I joined the Crumpet's Nail Tarts (or the Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenge as it was when I first joined) back in the spring of this year, and at that time, there were several challenges a week.
Now we have Sat-Art-Day and for this challenge, it was Vampires.
I'd seen a tutorial here on YouTube for Twilight themed mani and decided that I had to try it. I'm hoping to do these for some girlfriends that are going to the 'Twilight Marathon' next week that goes with the new Breaking Dawn, Pt. 2 so I started practicing today.
I started out with Essence new Twilight line in Jacob's Protection which is a dark blue/navy base satin with fine blue, red, silver, and gold glitter flakies. This was 2 coats and I wasn't really impressed with the formula of this one, it was kind of globby and uneven and it took a little time to dry. However, it did settle well and even, the glitter in it is fabulous! I don't mind saying that I contemplated just leaving it un touched for a while and doing the nail art later.
After watching the tutorial on YouTube, I then used acrylic paints to do the art. It wasn't as hard as I was afraid it was going to be - sometimes I get a little anxious about something I want to do, but then when I get going, it's not really as difficult as I had anticipated. :-)
Thanks for checking my post out! Let me know if you do this tutorial, post a link!
